If you have started to workout again to shed the excess fat that you have been carrying around for a number of years now then you are to be congratulated for your mindset. The hardest part was getting started and then after that exercise does actually become quite addictive which is great news for your mind and body. If you are in a little bit of a hurry to get into shape then there are a number of things that you can put into place that will allow you to burn more calories every time you do your favourite exercises.
It is important however that you do a full pre workout because this will help your muscles and ligaments to warm up so that you don’t experience any injuries. It would be a real shame to get an injury at the beginning of your new exercise routine that will probably put you back weeks if not months. This is just one top tip to allow you to get the best from your workouts every day here in Australia and the following are some others.
- Start lifting weights – If you are just a cardio type of person then you need to remember that if you get older, you lose your muscle and so you need to do whatever you can to hold onto it for as long as possible. It’s important to do some kind of resistance training for at least three days a week as this will really help to burn fat more quickly and it will certainly help to keep the weight off for longer.
- Play your favourite songs – If you are listening to one of your favourite songs then you’re more likely to work out harder and you will enjoy the exercise that you are doing. Music helps to boost your mood as well as essential chemicals that your body produces. Play some upbeat music as you begin your workout and then for your slow down, play some more relaxing music to calm you and slow down your heart.
- Always do a warm-up – This is so important for any workout routine and you should be doing a warm-up for a least 10 minutes every single time. Be sure to do proper stretching and hold them for longer. It is essential that you warm up your muscles and tendons before you push them to their upper limits. The warm-up is designed to increase blood flow throughout your body and to give you a better range of motion so that you can perform your exercise routines.
After completing an intensive workout, you have burnt out all of your energy stores and so this is the perfect time to get some healthy carbohydrates into your body to provide it with the fuel that it needs. You should always try to squeeze in supplements and some interval training as well because this helps to burn a lot more fat in a shorter space of time.
