‘Made in Bharat’ to Global Leadership: India’s Path to Becoming the Diabetes Care Capital of the World Dr. Sandip Mitra, Sr. Vice President of Global Medical Affairs at Mankind Pharma Ltd., delivered a compelling keynote on India’s role in diabetes care on a global scale. He highlighted how India is not only home to world-class research and pharmaceutical advancements but is also paving the way for accessible and affordable diabetes treatments. His session underscored India’s potential to emerge as the global hub for diabetes management and innovation. 

Obesity and Type 2 Diabetes in 40s: A Different Panorama in India Dr. Shailaja Kale, MD FRCP (London) FACE, Director of SKDC Diabetes & Specialty Clinics, took the stage to discuss the intricate relationship between obesity and Type 2 diabetes in the Indian population. She emphasized the unique genetic, lifestyle, and dietary factors that make diabetes prevention and management in India distinct from Western models, urging for tailored approaches to tackle the epidemic effectively.
