A tech innovator & problem solver at heart, Kamalika Guha Roy, realized entrepreneurship as her true inner calling at an early age. Born to a scholarly father & an artistic mother, Kamalika went after the road less taken.

ENTREPRENEURSHIP AT A YOUNG AGE

After completing her B.Sc from the University of Calcutta, she ventured into entrepreneurship at a time when the word wasn’t even known amongst the masses. She founded Azure Technologies with two of her friends in 2002.

Azure Technologies provided IT & Application Development services, including developing desktop and web applications using Microsoft Technologies. Being a robust tech enthusiast & innovator, Kamalika managed a hue of responsibilities in her new-formed startup, including requirement analysis, UX, database design, application design, coding, testing, deployment/ release, client communication, project cost recovery & after-sales support.

Kamalika served numerous quality clients, the biggest one being Hindustan Unilever. However, the firm dissolved due to ideological differences.

THE 9-5 WHEEL

After dissolving the firm, Kamalika, upon her parent’s insistence involved in multiple jobs across various roles; from Software Developer to Chief Architect, she gained much experience across different tech positions.

She started with a service-based technology company & gradually moved towards tech-enabled product companies. The combination of these two helped her build an immense techno-functional knowledge-base across diverse business domains like retail, e-commerce, logistics, supply chain, finance, distribution, ed-tech & many more.

Between 2004- 2017, Kamalika worked with various reputed firms, including The Walt Disney Company, where she worked as a Project Manager. She also served as the Head of Technology at Grab a Grub Services, a food-tech & lastmile delivery company & The Chief Technology Architect at Just Buy Live Enterprise.

She works as a Chief Technology Officer at KidzByte, heading the complete tech department. She is also an Independent Director with Jet Freight Logistics Ltd., one of the country’s leading freight forwarders.

INCEPTION OF EBULLIENTECH

Kamalika didn’t just want to stick to a 9-5 routine. Having gained crucial industry knowledge, Kamalika started Ebullientech Interactive LLP, an IT/ ITES consultation & Digital Marketing Company headquartered in Mumbai. Kamalika picked the name Ebullientech combining the two expressions Ebullience (Passionate) and Technology. The company provides a horizon of services, including Web, Android & iOS App Development, Cloud Consulting, ERP, OTT Solutioning, eCommerce Portals, Digital Marketing & Startup mentoring.

“We are a company entirely focused on building products of many startups and SMEs that either lack funding or expertise in the technology sphere,” says Kamalika.

Over a span of 4 years, Kamalika has built a strong team of qualified professionals with individual experiences that sum up to over 50 years.

PHILOSOPHY AND ADVICE FOR YOUNG ENTREPRENEURS

Starting up at a young age, Kamalika came across various hurdles, two of the most prominent being misogyny & racism. She overcame these by enriching her knowledge, sharpening her skills & letting her work do the talking.

Kamalika is a firm believer in the saying, “Actions speak louder than words.”

As an inspiration to thousands of young female entrepreneurs, Kamalika advises the young ones to believe in themselves, be positive, value people, strengthen their skills & stay unfazed by misogyny, workplace politics & favouritism.
