IIT Kharagpur launches Kharagpur Data Science Hackathon ’22

IIT Kharagpur launches Kharagpur Data Science Hackathon’22 in association with Axtria: Starting from 16st Dec 2022

Kharagpur Data Analytics Group is a student-led research group at IIT Kharagpur. It aims at bringing Data Analytics and Machine Learning enthusiasts together under the umbrella of a single society. It organizes various activities such as Research Paper Reading sessions, Data Science and ML workshops, Hackathons and publishing blogs in the field of Data Science, Machine Learning, and Deep Learning.

Every year Kharagpur Data Analytics Group proudly organizes its flagship event – the Kharagpur Data Science Hackathon, India’s largest Data Science Hackathon. This event witnesses thousands of participants tackle challenging real-world problems and formulate innovative and brilliant solutions. The previous edition was a grand success and saw over 2100+ participants from various esteemed institutions like IITs, IIMs, BITS etc. The event saw numerous praiseworthy and innovative solutions by some of the best students in the country. A total of 10 teams qualified for the final round out of more than 800 teams. At the event, a webinar was organized, with Mr Rajesh Gaurav,

Associate Director, Data Science & Analytics, RedBus, as the Guest Speaker on the topic “Use of AI/ML in Solving Business Problems”, followed by the evaluation for the Final Round. The results saw the first position being bagged by team Eccentric from IIT Kharagpur. The event was sponsored by RedBus, and a massive prize of INR 60,000 was offered to the winning team.

With overwhelming success over the past years, Kharagpur Data Analytics Group proudly announces the 3rd edition of the Kharagpur Data Science Hackathon 2022, where participants will come together and showcase their brilliant data analytics skills.

The 3rd Edition of the Hackathon will be sponsored by Axtria with Media Partners – The Global Hues and OpIndia. The prize money for the winners will be a whopping amount of Rs 70,000! The competition aims to foster innovative analytical thinking in the participants through a real-world challenge.
