Press Releases

To foster the spirit of self-reliance among young minds and help them build their future through exposure to entrepreneurship, E-Cell IIT Bombay is set to launch the 16th edition of their annual entrepreneurship fest, E-Summit 2021: A Blizzard of Ingenuity. The past year taught us how tough times call for tough measures and how small and large businesses worldwide are fighting the economic slowdown in their own ways. E-Summit’21 is a celebration of ideas and opportunities and a platform to acknowledge the ones who stood strong and firm in this grinding storm while at the same time a medium to remind others who surrendered that the fight is not over yet.

Presented by WestBridge Capital, powered by IDFC FIRST Bank, and in association with Rakuten, E-Summit is scheduled for the first weekend of February, i.e., 6th – 7th February. The two-day virtual event promises to bring a wholesome package of entrepreneurship right to your electronic devices be it laptops or phones. The event comprises speaker sessions, workshops, competitions, hackathons, internship job fairs, and many more.

The 16th edition looks bigger and better than ever with the presence of pioneers from the business, tech, and journalism industries. Manish Sisodia the Deputy CM of Delhi, guru, and founder of Patanjali Baba Ramdev, globally renowned spiritual guide and mentor BK sister Shivani, Indian-American billionaire businessman and one of the first investors in Google Mr. Ram Shriram, Ritesh Agarwal, Founder and CEO of Oyo Rooms, founder and CEO of Snapdeal Kunal Bahl are some of the famous personalities who will be delivering talks on a multitude of topics this E-Summit.

Another major highlight to look out for is “The Ten Minute Million” or more popularly known as TTMM. The shortlisted startups will get a chance to make a 10-minute pitch in front of a panel of India’s best angel investors, followed by an on-the-spot decision on financial backing. The unique feature here is that all the selected startups have a chance to secure backing of Rs 20 lakh and beyond.

“At E-Cell IIT Bombay, we take every opportunity to celebrate the spirit of entrepreneurship. Be it, students or professionals, we try our best to cater to the needs of all”, said Akash Khonde the Overall Coordinator at E-Cell. Quoting the above stated, IIT Bombay has not backed down a bit to make the beginners’ journey to the startup world, a smooth one.  With the Internship and Job Fair that connects startup enthusiast graduates and undergraduates to the startups so that they get the relevant experience in their desired field to Seed Stars which provides smaller startups with an opportunity to gain VC funding for scaling their product across different markets only by pitching and negotiating in front of a renowned panel of investors, E-Cell has it all covered.

If you think this is it? Buckle up for more! E-Summit has many exciting workshops, conclaves,  competitions, and challenging hackathons for all the curious minds out there. With jam-packed electric events and energetic attendees with some of the brightest ideas ever, the E-Summit 2021 on the 6th and 7th of February is a must-attend event for everyone who likes great ideas!
