Spring Fest is the annual social and cultural fest of the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur. With an online reach of over 2 million, Spring Fest is one of Asia’s largest cultural fest organized entirely by students. Enthusiastic participants from more than 800 major colleges of India throng to Kharagpur for this 3-day celebration of fun and frolic. Spring Fest 2023 celebrated its 64th edition of Spring Fest on 26-29 October 2023.

Spring Fest successfully executed “Hitch Hike”, the nationwide preliminary round for its diverse array of artistic events encompassing Dance, Drama, Music, Fashion, etc. This exhilarating event unfolded across ten vibrant Indian cities: Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Visakhapatnam, Lucknow, Jaipur, and Chandigarh. Spring Fest extends a heartful gratitude to all the judges for their precious time. Fueled by the enthusiasm of participants and the dedicated organizing team, the atmosphere was charged with palpable excitement and enjoyment for the viewers. The prelims of Nagpur and Indore will be conducted soon.

Spring Fest is all set to move towards the elimination round after the magnificent conduction of Prelims for Dance, Drama, Music, Fashion, and Literary events in another six cities, namely Kolkata, Bhubaneshwar, Patna, Ranchi, Guwahati, Raipur. The Battle of Bands, a premier rock band competition, Wildfire is coming soon to spread its magic in five major cities, namely Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi, Kolkata, and Shillong with prize money worth 1.5 lakhs. Spring Fest hosts a wide array of events spanning 13 different genres, featuring over 130 competitions where the finest talents in India compete for a total cash prize of approximately INR 35 lakhs. This year, once again, a plethora of new events have been introduced to stimulate your senses and unearth your hidden talents. These events serve as a platform for the very best, offering an opportunity for participants to relish the experience of a lifetime. Each year, Spring Fest also takes on a meaningful social initiative; in the previous year, it initiated “Pukaar – Fulfilling a silent demand” to address and tackle the social, economic, and environmental challenges faced by communities, fulfilling unspoken needs.

Star nights have always been an integral part of the Spring Fest charm. Artists like Shaan, Sunidhi Chauhan, Vishal Shekhar, Farhan Akhtar, Amit Trivedi, Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, Salim-Sulaiman, KK, Prateek Kuhad, The Raghu Dixit Project, Agnee, Indian Ocean, Pineapple Express, Parikrama, Euphoria, Pentagram, The Local Train, and many more monumental performances inclusive of a vibrant set of International shows like that of Dead by April, Monuments, Tesseract have happened at Spring Fest in the past years.
