Dreams don’t have an expiry date.
There is no age to start something new. At 70, when most people are expected to slow down, Chandraprabha Parihar was just getting started. Not with rest, but with a dream that had quietly waited decades to bloom.
Chandraprabha grew up in a simple household, where creativity came naturally. When she was only 14 years old, she used to stitch frocks for her younger sister using scraps of cloth and thread. While she couldn’t decipher that it was her talent, it sowed the first step into a lifelong relationship with craft.
She got married at the age of only 19. Like for women of her generation, her life changed. Her days were now filled with family responsibilities. The belan replaced the sewing machine, and creative time turned into care work. She focused all her energy on building her home and raising her children with love. But even then, she didn’t let the spark for craft completely fade. Whenever she could recollect time, she taught herself crochet and made sweaters and scarves for her children and later, her grandchildren. As years passed, responsibilities lessened. Something inside her was still waiting, waiting for a chance to do something for herself.
Creation of Nayher
That moment came in 2022, when her daughter casually asked her to teach her crochet. Chandraprabha smiled and agreed. She picked up her crochet needle again. She made a simple bag which her daughter shared online, and to their surprise, it caught everyone’s attention.
Friends and strangers began asking where they could buy the bag. Orders started trickling in. What had started as a quiet return to a hobby quickly turned into something bigger. Her daughter-in-law, Swati, saw the potential and encouraged her to take it further. That’s when they decided to name their passion– Nayher.
With everyone’s encouragement, Chandraprabha began her journey into the entrepreneurial world at 70. She began creating bags, pouches, toys, table mats, and coasters.

When It Went International
The biggest moment came when Chandraprabha’s work reached international buyers. Her first large order came from Australia. That single order gave her confidence and belief that age is no barrier. Furthermore, she wanted to add a deeper meaning to her brand. As Nayher grew, she began training other women. She started empowering women who had skills but never thought of them as something they could turn into income. Today, she works with six other women.
Nothing Comes Without Challenges
If there were no obstacles, there would be no victories. Learning how to price her work, handle orders, take feedback, and promote her products, all of which were quite new for her, but those who are willing to learn eventually excel at what they do. Chandraprabha never lost sight of her goal and thus conquered all hurdles.
What makes Chandraprabha’s journey truly inspiring is how real it is. She didn’t wait for perfect timing. She didn’t need a business degree or fancy tools. All she needed was the will to start. Today, Chandraprabha is a creator, a businesswoman, a mentor and above all, a strong woman who showed the world that age should never limit dreams. She is showing the world that passion doesn’t fade with age; it just waits for the right moment to return.
