It all starts with an idea. Driven by his ambition to add value to society, Sudhir Chandrasekar established Phovesto Powers in 2017. After graduation, he worked at a startup for a short time. While working at the startup, he saw an existing market gap in the energy industry. This inspired Sudhir to start his own company to fill the gap and provide smarter energy solutions. Today, Phovesto Powers focuses on creating cutting-edge solutions with maximum reliability and sustainability, providing exceptional services for its customers.
Sudhir says, “At Phovesto Powers, we aim to deliver exceptional power plant solutions customised according to the customer’s needs across the industrial, agricultural and household sectors. In today’s world, the electricity demand is outpacing energy generation, so we offer solutions to help clients generate energy independently via Solar, Wind, Micro Grid and more.”
Initially, as the company’s Founder & Managing Director, Sudhir focused on creating training methods and establishing process flow. Afterwards, his roles and responsibilities included coordinating with the team, creating designs and delivering solutions to its customers. Additionally, Sudhir makes financial and risk-management decisions at Phovesto Powers. He sets the company’s vision and values, ensuring the team follows them.
The Secret Ingredient
Phovesto Powers sets itself apart by offering tailor-made solutions to meet its client’s needs, solidifying its reputation as a preferred brand in the power industry. Over 60 per cent of the company’s customer base comes from word-of-mouth recommendations, giving it an edge over others.
There have been many instances that have helped the company enhance its credibility. Sudhir recalls one of the incidents, “One of our most notable projects was a commercial venture where we were initially promised a return on investment (ROI) within 4 years. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen policy changes, the customer’s payback period was extended to 7 years, causing problems for both parties. We had two options. One was to cancel the project and issue a refund, which would result in a loss for the customer. Second was to compensate for the extended payback period at our own expense and we chose the latter.”
He further explains, “We decided to honour our original promise of a four-year ROI by compensating for the loss and completing the project without cutting corners. The client appreciated our decision and referred many new clients to us. This not only helped us recover our losses but also boosted our credibility and trust in the market.”

Just as we gained momentum, the COVID-19 pandemic hit, causing significant setbacks. Despite procurement challenges and rising costs, our commitment to delivering quality remained resolute.”
Innovation often means taking chances. As the market evolves, the need to keep on innovating also increases. Phovesto Powers ventured into a partnership with new entrepreneurs to create a franchise model for its projects. This helped them focus on developing solutions while their partners handled marketing.
Sudhir emphasises, “It was risky because our projects require a lot of money with small profits, which doesn’t attract investors easily. However, the risk paid off as it helped expand our reach more effectively.”
