Separate Campaign Art from the Final Words

A campaign poster can look fluent from three feet away and still contain one fatal character. The letters have the right density, the line breaks feel balanced, and the type appears to belong in the image. Then a language owner reads it closely and finds a substituted glyph, a missing accent, or a word that only resembles the approved copy.

The safest workflow does not ask Kimg AI to deliver a finished multilingual poster in one step. It separates visual generation from final text lockup. The image model creates the composition and protects space for copy; verified language is placed afterward in a conventional design tool. That division keeps a visually strong draft from quietly becoming the source of truth for words.

Plausible Lettering Creates a False Sense of Fluency

Generated lettering has improved enough to create a new review problem: it often looks intentional before it is read. A reviewer who does not know the language may approve rhythm, weight, and placement while assuming another person checked the actual characters. The language owner may assume the image contains locked campaign copy because it already looks typeset.

This gap is most dangerous in short phrases. A six-word headline has no surrounding context to reveal an error, and one altered character can change a product name, date, discount, or legal qualifier. Decorative pseudo-type is less risky when everyone knows it is texture. Almost-correct campaign copy invites trust it has not earned.

Mark generated words as temporary at the first review. Do not circulate the visual as “final art” even if the English line happens to be correct. The file status should describe what is approved: composition, palette, and text space—not copy. 

How the Visual Master and Copy Lockup Divide

The visual master owns imagery, color, lighting, depth, and the empty regions where copy will sit. The language lockup owns every visible character, line break, punctuation mark, trademark, and mandatory qualifier. One production file may contain both at the end, but the approvals stay separate.

Those capabilities make it reasonable to explore a composition that anticipates several writing systems. They do not eliminate the need to verify copy character by character.

Specify a calm upper-left area for a two-line headline, a compact lower region for a call to action, and enough contrast for light or dark type. Ask for surfaces that can accept text without crossing faces, product edges, or high-frequency detail. The approved copy remains in a separate text document.

Build Text-Safe Space Before Translation Starts

Languages do not occupy equal space. German can expand beyond an English label; Japanese may use fewer visible units but demand different line-breaking judgment; Arabic changes direction and affects the balance of nearby objects. A visual master built around one exact English line is not truly language-neutral.

Test text space with rectangles, not fake translated words. Use one short block, one block roughly 35 percent wider, and one right-aligned block. If any shape collides with the subject or loses contrast, adjust the composition before translation. The rectangles are measurement devices and should never appear in published art.

Editors can use Nano Banana through Kimg AI to revise a background or shift a visual mass while preserving the approved direction. Keep the request local: open more quiet space on the right while retaining the subject, palette, light direction, and crop. Review the whole image afterward because local instructions do not guarantee that every other detail remains unchanged.

A useful master also avoids language-specific symbolism that was never briefed. A decorative stamp, seal, or handwritten mark may look culturally appropriate to an outsider while introducing a second translation problem. If it carries meaning, it belongs in the language lockup. If it does not, remove it.

Freeze the master before the localization team begins. Record the approved crop, subject position, empty-space boundaries, and background contrast with a dated preview from Kimg AI. If a later visual revision moves any of those elements, flag the affected placements instead of silently replacing the master beneath completed translations. This small change notice prevents language teams from proofing copy against an image that no longer matches the export.

Audit Every Character at Final Display Size

Once approved copy is typeset over the master, the language owner reviews the actual export, not just the source text. Compare the headline, call to action, price, date, URL, product name, and qualifier against the signed-off copy. Check punctuation and capitalization separately; they are easy to skip when the words themselves are correct.

Then inspect the smallest delivery. A disclaimer that exists in the design file but becomes unreadable in a mobile placement has failed. So has a diacritic that disappears after compression. Review each required aspect ratio because a social crop can remove a qualifier or separate a call to action from the object it describes.

Use a two-person sign-off when the campaign risk justifies it. The language owner confirms characters and meaning. The designer confirms that the approved copy, rather than a visually convenient retyping, reached the export. Neither approval substitutes for the other.

For a campaign with ten locales and three placements, do not rely on memory to track thirty files. Use a compact proof sheet with one row per export and columns for copy match, line breaks, safe area, contrast, and final-size legibility. A failed cell returns only that export to production. The sheet also reveals systemic problems: if every longer locale fails the same safe area, fix the master rather than squeezing ten translations independently.

Keep One Language-Neutral Master for Revision

Archive the text-free visual master, the approved copy table, and the final exports as separate assets. When a date changes, the team should reopen the language lockup rather than regenerate the image. When the background changes, copy approval should not restart unless its contrast, placement, or surrounding meaning changed.

Name exports by locale and placement, not by subjective status. A file called “final-final” does not reveal whether it is the French mobile crop or the Spanish feed version. A simple locale-placement-version convention makes the handoff inspectable without inventing a complex asset system.

Keep the rejected proof beside the correction when an error could recur. A missing accent or clipped qualifier is more useful as a visible production example than as a vague note to “check localization.” The pair shows future reviewers exactly what the gate is meant to catch.

The goal is not to distrust image-model typography in every context. Decorative text, ideation, and early layout experiments can be useful. Campaign copy has a stricter job: it must be exactly the approved language at the size the audience will see. Generate the visual field, lock verified words outside the pixels, and let each review approve only what it can actually prove.
