  • Specialty Medications

Over the years, Sun Pharma has built a strong portfolio of patent-protected specialty medicines. The key segments targetted by the company include dermatology, ophthalmology, and oncology. Its initiatives in this segment cover the entire value chain, right from in-licensing early-to-late stage clinical candidates, to getting access to on-market patented products. 

  • Generic Medications

To build the trust of both patients and healthcare professionals, all the products have the hallmark of technology-based differentiation and cover the full range of dosage forms, including tablets, capsules, injectables, inhalers, ointments, creams, and liquids. The therapeutic segments covered in this portfolio of over 2000 molecules include psychiatry, anti-infectives, neurology, cardiology, orthopedic, diabetology, gastroenterology, ophthalmology, nephrology, urology, dermatology, gynecology, respiratory, oncology, dental, and Nutritionals.

  • Over-the-Counter Medications

This range includes some of its well-known and famous medications like  Faringosept (sore throat), Revital (vitamins), and Volini (topical analgesics). There are other category-defining brands too like Coldact & Flustat (cold & flu), Brustan, Painamol & Paduden (analgesics), Aspenter, Aspacardin, Nudrate & Fortifikat (lifestyle OTCs), Gestid (digestives), and Chericof (cough).

  • Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients

As the company believes that APIs are a vital input in the manufacturing of complex formulations to facilitate vertical integration, it started producing APIs in 1995. Currently, the company manufactures APIs in 14 different manufacturing facilities located in India, Hungary, Israel, the US, and Australia. Its product list includes generics and complex APIs like anti-cancers, peptides, steroids, sex hormones, and controlled substances, including poppy-derived opiate raw materials and, are produced in isolated manufacturing areas.

  • Anti Retro Viral Medications

Intending to improve access and affordability, it offers a broad range of WHO prequalified ARV medicines. It also contributes to combating HIV/AIDS through its several first-line and second-line Highly Active Antiretroviral Therapy (HAART) regimens.

CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

The company believes that business and responsibility go hand in hand. Therefore, it conducts various CSR activities. Priority areas include health, education, drinking water, and sanitation. 

  • Malaria Elimination: Its Malaria Elimination Demonstration Project aims to eliminate Malaria from 1233 villages of the Mandla district.
  • Mobile Healthcare Units: This initiative aims at delivering primary healthcare services to over 6,50,000 people located around areas close to the company’s manufacturing plants and other establishments. 
  • Sun Pharma Science Foundation: It encourages and rewards excellence in the medical and pharmaceutical sciences. It is an independent non-profit organization that promotes scientific endeavors in India.
