Imagine walking into a small, ancient library in India, where bundles of palm leaves, aged and fragile, hold secrets about your past, present and future. These are said to be records of individual lives, written centuries ago by sages. Sounds like something out of a movie, right? But what if we tell you that someone has spent years researching about this phenomenon?
Meet Wing Commander Shashikant Oak, a highly qualified retired Indian Air Force Commander who has dedicated his life to studying, popularising and bringing Nadi astrology into the limelight– a form of predictive astrology based on ancient palm leaves inscribed by sages thousands of years ago.
About Wing Commander Shashikant Oak
Born in 1949, Shashikant Oak is a retired Wing Commander from the Indian Air Force. Over the last 18 years, he has been conducting deep research on Nadi astrology. When he stumbled upon the concept of Nadi astrology, he didn’t dismiss it as folklore, rather approached it like an investigator. How could these ancient texts possibly contain details about modern individuals? Who wrote them? How were they preserved? His quest for answers led him deep into the heart of India’s historical and spiritual landscape.
What Is Nadi Astrology? And How Does It Work?
Nadi astrology is a very ancient form of astrology. Its origins began in the Southern part of India and is based on an old-age belief system that one can decipher the past, present and future of all human beings through texts written on the palm leaves.
It is believed that a thousand years ago, great Indian sages were granted a boon that they can look into every human being’s past, present and future lives. These sages recorded these predictions on palm leaves which were later preserved in libraries across India, especially in Tamil Nadu. Whenever a person arrives at a Nadi centre or meets a Nadi Astrologer, he uses the person’s thumbprint to identify the corresponding palm leaf. That’s how Nadi astrology works.
The Role of Gurus in Shashikant Oak’s Life
A true seeker never walks alone. For Shashikant Oak, the presence of great gurus played a pivotal role in deepening his understanding of both spirituality and the mysteries of Nadi astrology. He met many gurus – Yogi Ramsuratkumar, the revered saint of Thiruvannamalai and Chitale Baba, a master of supernatural powers. After Chitale Baba’s advice, he journeyed to the Himalayas, which helped him enrich his spiritual quest.
How Did He Get Introduced to Nadi Astrology?
Shashikant joined the defense services as a Pilot Officer and served in different parts of the nation, including Jammu & Kashmir, Srinagar, Pune, Kanpur, New Delhi and more. It all started by accident when Shashikant was posted in Tambaram, Tamil Nadu. He heard about an ancient system of palm leaf readings that supposedly held information about people’s lives, written centuries ago by sages.
Like any rational person, his first reaction to Nadi Astrology was skepticism. Instead of dismissing it outright, he decided to investigate it scientifically. Over the next several years, he invested his time in researching and understanding astrology. He visited many Nadi centres in India and travelled to many places. He also examined the accuracy of predictions and compared details from ancient manuscripts with real-life events. He even started compiling a dictionary of ancient Tamil words used in these texts to understand their deeper meanings.
