COEP Technological University famous for its academic achievements and dynamic extracurricular activities is all prepared to launch the 96th edition of its celebrated Regatta event on 24th March 2024. Regatta is recognized as the “longest-running college festival” by the Limca Book of Records.
Regatta showcases more than 165 unique boats every year. It sets new heights of innovation and skills. Regatta has been a prestigious tradition of COEP since 1928. Students practice day and night for the event and showcase their skills to more than 12,000 people with their impressive boats.
We introduce you to our 96th Regatta theme, “Dawn to Radiance” which resembles the early stages represented by “Dawn” which often denotes beginning and “Radiance” which denotes transformation into a state of brightness. For 96th Regatta, Dawn to Radiance means capturing the entire experience of the event.
Variety of Events
COEP Regatta involves a variety of events from Kayak Ballet and Shell Games to Telematches, Punt Formation and Mashaal Dance.
- Kayak Ballet is a graceful performance where kayaks move elegantly and swiftly over the water which adds a touch of beauty to the parade.
- Shell Games needs strong players whose strength is determined through the challenges.
- Telematches is a mesmerizing journey of bravery and valor. Memories etch through the nerves as boats roar through flames, creating an unforgettable experience for every spectator.
- Punt Formation shows great coordination and teamwork. Various shapes are created by the punts on water which lights up the event.
- Mashaal Dance is a unique performance during Regatta in which boats are not involved. Dancers holding lit torches form still shapes to express theme and message.
