Suman Shanbhag (Founder, Kickstart Workhubs)

The Indian Co-working Office Space market size is estimated to be at USD 1.94 billion in 2024 and will reach USD 2.72 billion by 2029, growing at a CAGR of 7% during the forecast period (2024-2029). The trend of Co-working space is here to stay and that’s where Suman Shanbhag comes in, with Kickstart Workhubs to provide a home-like fully-furnished office for those eyeing a successful career in this competitive business arena.

“During the pandemic, I noticed that many people were exploring business opportunities, but the uncertainties caused by the pandemic were a concern for them. People were searching for a place with minimal financial burdens and a supportive environment to incept or expand their businesses. When I rigorously researched this situation, it inspired me to develop a business idea that would come as a win-win situation for both me and my clients,” states Suman while narrating the inception story of Kickstart Workhubs.

Suman, who was recently listed under the top 10 emerging entrepreneurs in Bangalore in 2023, leads Kickstart Workhubs with the primary focus of offering an affordable workspace that fosters networking opportunities. In just a few years of its existence, it has found its place among the leading Co-working Spaces in India for its affordability and comfort.

Suman excitingly mentions, “My vision is to have our offices at all the strategic points of  Bengaluru where there is metro connectivity, thereby easing the travel for the clients, and providing comfortable and stress-free working environments.” Comfort is an area she never compromises.

A Co-Working Space Like No Other

With amenities like conference rooms, ample parking space, high-speed internet, printing/fax services, cleaning services, and beverages, Kickstart Workhubs ensures a smooth and flawless working environment. It stands out due to its cost-effectiveness and proximity to metro stations (Konanakunte Metro Station and Doddakallasandra Metro Station).

The Co-working space is located only 500 meters from the recently opened Forum Mall on Kanakapura Road which provides clients with an easy opportunity to relax after business hours. Its USP lies in the hygienic and friendly atmosphere. It serves clients from diverse sectors such as sustainability, app development, software solutions, and more.

While talking about the challenges faced, she shares, “I started Kickstart Workhubs just a month before the second wave of the pandemic hit the world. It was a tough time for the business but I tackled the challenge by offering spacious workstations that allowed for social distancing. Our well-ventilated workspace meant clients could work comfortably without air conditioners, which was a significant help during this difficult phase.” She adds, “I believe challenges are like refining gold, the process may be tough but the result is pure success.”
