First Episode Of Shark Tank India Leaves Fans Upset

First Episode Of Shark Tank India Leaves Fans Upset. Why?

Business

The much-awaited Season 2 of Shark Tank India finally returned on the small screen on January 2, 2023, but Judges’ reactions to one of the pitches left many viewers upset and disappointed.

Fans of the shows were quite happy to see their favourite sharks – Anupam Mittal of Shaadi.com, Peyush Bansal of Lenskart, Vineeta Singh of Sugar Cosmetics, Namita Thapar of Emcure Pharmaceuticals, and Aman Gupta of BoAt in the show. However, when sharks denied investing in fellow shark’s competitor brand, the show became a topic of conversation on social media platforms

When Recode’s Founders Pitched

Two young entrepreneurs from Panchkula, Haryana appeared on the show to seek funding for their makeup brand Recode but unfortunately, their pitch was rejected by sharks. Aman Gupta and Namita Thapar rejected it for the sake of friendship. Meanwhile, Peyush Bansal and Anupam Mittal agreed that this shouldn’t be the sole reason for not considering the brand.

Despite receiving praise from sharks for their Juggadu marketing techniques, the Founders didn’t get any funding for their brand Recode.

The fans called the judges biased and questioned their judging talent.

One of the Tweets went: “Disappointed with shark tank India this season, poor people who have the same line of business as any of the judges, will not get investment just because shark doesn’t want to lose their friend. What kind of logic is tht?”

One user wrote, “This is utter non sensical theory. If you want to play friendship then why call ppl to the show. You limit creativity and opportunities and that’s can’t be justified by saying holy words of value. So exit the show or give chance to neutral investors looking for business.”

Namita reacted to the social media trolling and tweeted on Tuesday saying that she had no regrets for not investing in Recode which is Vineeta’s competitor brand. She also said that she was entitled to her independent values.

Being a shark doesn’t mean we are not entitled to our independent values & speaking candidly so if I don’t invest in a fellow sharks competition, that’s me, no regrets & if I call out toxicity & don’t join the ignorant that celebrate people w lack of integrity.. that’s me 🙂

Shark Tank India airs on Sony Entertainment Television. Viewers can watch it on Sony TV at 10:00 pm from Monday to Friday. They can also watch it on the OTT app Sony LIV, Sonyliv.com, and YouTube.
